About MYAP

The Montana Yellowstone Archaeological project is a joint effort of Yellowstone National Park and the University of Montana Department of Anthropology. Since 2007, the MYAP has conducted archaeological survey and excavations at sites in the Gardiner Basin, Yellowstone Lake, the Snake and Lewis River Valleys, among others. Two books have been published on this research, Yellowstone Archaeology: Northern Yellowstone and Yellowstone Archaeology: Southern Yellowstone.
